AnnotationThis is the second part of a report on an action research project on the effect of training of residential care staff on the well-being of residents in their care. All staff at a nursing home had participated in two days' training in person-centred dementia care with Tom Kitwood of the Bradford Dementia Group. The article considers feedback from the Dementia Care Mapping (DCM) carried out after completion of the training sessions, and the action plan formulated from the DCM evaluation. While there were positive changes in staff attitudes and in the interaction of staff with residents measured using the Dementia Care Practitioner Assessment (DCPA), the impact on residents' well-being (assessed using DCM) was limited.
