AnnotationThe "Later Lifestyles" survey - conducted with a self-selecting sample of the readership of "Yours" magazine in 1999 and published by Help the Aged - paints a picture of a predominantly satisfied sample of older people, who lead varied and interesting lives. This article summarises the survey's aims, methodology, and findings with regard to: retirement, health and services; living situation; income, benefits and expenditure; and family and social situation. Issues that have implications for policy are outlined. (RH).
