Annotation | The author highlights the results of her dissertation, "The impact of a diagnosis of young onset dementia on the life course development of the main family caregiver", a small-scale study in which 33 men and women participated, representing both present and ex-carers. She also relates aspects of her findings to her experience as an informal carer for her husband. This paper was presented at the Alzheimer's Disease Society's 20th Anniversary Conference, entitled a "Meeting of Minds" held in London in July 1999. (RH). |
