AnnotationResults of an older adult service strategic review in the London Boroughs of Lewisham and Southwark demonstrated the need to expand psychological services. The development of a specialist psychological therapies service was proposed involving cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy (PP), and systematic family therapy (FT). The author reviews the literature on these three therapies; outlines implementation of the service, staff evaluation, clinical outcome, and continuing professional development (CPD); and lists recommendations concerning their promotion.
