Annotation | The prevalence and correlates of physical activity among older adults living independently in retirement communities were investigated in this study. Only 15% of the older adults in the study were active at recommended levels. A stepwise multiple regression tested the association of 22 correlates with four measures of physical activity: energy expenditure levels, strength activity levels, endurance activity levels, and flexibility activity levels. Results indicated that belief in ability and positive attitude were factors related to physical activity. (AKM). |
