Annotation | The measurement of quality and cost-effectiveness in health care has become increasingly important. This paper describes the Clinical Value Compass (CVC), a quality measurement tool which links four dimensions of outcomes together to give an overall measure of quality and cost effectiveness. The CVC was developed for stroke rehabilitation and measured across for elderly care facilities in Australia. The CVC was well accepted by the treatment teams and proved practical to measure. The results revealed differences in practices and client groups that led to a closer analysis of processes and subsequent changes in these processes. (AKM). |
