AnnotationAlthough population is projected to fall in Lanarkshire in the next six years, the over-75 age group will increase by 12.5%, with the greatest relative increase in East Kilbride. This report covers hospital and community services provided by Lanarkshire Health Board, Lanarkshire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, and Lanarkshire Primary Care NHS Trust. Services are in a period of transition, with the development of a strategy for older people and a review of acute services. Clinical services are moving towards an integrated approach to service standards and developments, which are included in the examples of good practice noted during the inspection. Recommendations are made for reviewing the service in other areas of work. (RH).
