AnnotationThe aim of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of instruments used with patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) when administered in the home of participants. Twenty patients diagnosed with AD were administered standardised tests to measure cognition and mood, and were reassessed after two weeks. Findings showed that the assessments conducted in the patients home were valid and reliable. The study concluded that in-home assessments are feasible, adequate, and may be more convenient for patients and caregivers, and may facilitate research while increasing generalisability of the findings.
