Annotation | The introduction of a behaviour rating scale (the Social Dysfunction and Aggression Scale - SDAS) in a Dutch psychogeriatric nursing home with patients over 65 suffering from irreversible dementia was found not to influence the reported incidence and management of aggressive behaviour. The authors suggest that prospective intervention studies should include a stabilisation phase for measurement prior to any planned trial. (RH). |
