AnnotationThis presents highlights and summarises of some of the 161 events that were organised by the Scottish Committee for the 1999 International Year of Older Persons (IYOP). The Committee is an amalgamation of organisations and individuals who are prominent in the field of older people in Scotland. The Year concluded with a "Positive Partnerships" conference in January 2000, where the past Year was reviewed and the way ahead was discussed. This has led to the development of a Scottish Council on Ageing which should be in operation by autumn 2000. (KJ / RH).
