AnnotationThis is a continuous, multi-purpose survey based on a sample of the general population resident in private households in Great Britain. Key preliminary results from the 1998 General Household Survey (GHS) are released by the ONS. More detailed information will be published in the 27th annual report "Living in Britain", in March 2000. Key findings look at the following areas: Cohabitation not leading to marriage; Alcohol consumption; Smoking; Day care of children and Contraception. Interviewers collected information from 15,853 adults aged 16 and over in 8,636 households.
