Annotation | The CNEOPSA Project - Care Needs of Ethnic Older Persons with Alzheimer's - was designed to provide a map of the current and future direction of dementia care for minority ethnic older people. The Project has been transnational in focus (UK, France, Denmark, Finland, and the Netherlands). The Policy Research Institute on Ageing and Ethnicity (PRIAE) has led the Project, with support from the European Commission (EC). In this first of three articles on the Project's findings, issues raised by professional carers in interviews are discussed: barriers to communication, and cultural and religious differences, for example.
