Annotation | The White Paper, "Modernising social services" announced new special grants on partnership and prevention as part of its Social Services Modernisation Fund; and the report of the Carers Strategy, "Caring about carers" announced a special grant for carers to enable them to take a break from caring. This letter draws the attention of local authorities to the draft Local government special grant reports for: Promoting independence: partnership grant (no 56); Promoting independence: prevention grant (no 57); and Promoting independence: carers grant (no 58), which were due to be laid before Parliament. Drafts of these Special Grant reports under Section 88B of the Local Government Finance Act 1988 are included in Annexes to this circular. (RH). |
