Annotation | The purpose of the review is to assess the extent to which people in Bath and North East Somerset are well served by social services. It considers: how services are arranged for individual people; how the care needs of the population are planned for; how the authority manages performance and quality; and how well available resources are being used. The Joint Review found that many users were positive about the services they received, however, there were also some inconsistencies in service provision. Key issues identified by the review include: improving services for looked after children; developing a comprehensive performance framework; making roles and accountabilities clearer; and developing commissioning strategies within a Best Value framework.
