AnnotationGiven time, most people can expect to accumulate some of the pathology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in their brains, and a significant minority will go on to develop clinical disease. This article reviews the epidemiological evidence of risk factors for AD. Age, family history of dementia, Down's syndrome, family history of Down's syndrome, ApoE E4 allele, head injury and smoking are some of the risk factors outlined. (AKM).
