Annotation | Many older Americans will require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) in later life. This article presents in-depth case studies of three caregivers of older husbands with dementia. The cases highlight the women's rationale behind sacrificing leisure to provide better care. A relationship between a strong sense of family obligation and sacrifice of leisure is explored. (RH). |
