AnnotationResearch to date has not shown any significant benefits in restricting dietary cholesterol in older people (aged over 70). Diets that include severe restriction of commonly preferred foods may actually promote malnutrition. In general, a balanced diet with a variety of foods allowing for individual preferences appears to be the best course for most older people. (RH).
