AnnotationThe authors describe the Isle of Wight's travelling memory club for older people with organic mental illness, and methods of referral and assessment. The service has been evaluated by questionnaire and by examining referral patterns. The authors consider this model of care delivery to be cost-effective, easily accessible, and flexible to meet individual needs. They also plan to map general practitioners' (GPs) attitudes to and knowledge of early intervention work; to explore joint health and social services dementia projects; and to develop indicators of dual diagnosis (e.g. memory loss and psychosis).
