AnnotationContinence problems are widespread in the population, especially among older people. Incontinence can be caused by a multiplicity of medical, social, environmental and cultural factors, and regardless of national public awareness campaigns, it remains a taboo subject. This article describes the different types of continence, covering urge incontinence, genuine stress incontinence, and voiding problems. Factors that contribute to incontinence in older people are also outlined. (AKM).
