Annotation | The James Lenox House model of supportive care for older residents has been developed and enhanced over a 15-year period. It is an example of a not-for-profit organisation which provides for independent living in New York. The additional supports and services have enabled many residents, who would otherwise need to be institutionalised, to continue living in their own homes with an improved quality of life, secure in the knowledge that they are cared for. This article outlines the administrative plan of action; lessons learned and tasks required; and the timetable for new services and results of their introduction. (RH). |
