AnnotationThis paper originated as a submission to the King's Fund Commission on the Health and Care of Older People in London. The paper draws together statistical data and information from a variety of sources to provide a profile of the older Irish population in London. Compared to other minority ethnic groups a high proportion of Irish people in London are aged 60 years and over. The older Irish population have specific health problems and social and cultural needs which are not recognised or adequately addressed by providers. The paper concludes with a list of recommendations. (AKM).
