Ageing in the 21st century | Author(s) | Robin Holliday |
Journal title | The Lancet, vol 354, Supplement IV, December 1999 |
Pages | p s4 (Review 1999) |
Keywords | Biological ageing ; Therapeutics. |
Annotation | At the end of the twentieth century, there is still a strong emphasis on the treatment of age-associated disease, rather than on its prevention. The author suggests that those who do research on ageing should stop promising an ever-longer life-span, but instead direct their efforts towards a better understanding of the multiple causes of ageing.
