Annotation | Elderliness may be defined as the meaning of being old, both at the social and personal level. This guest editorial sets out key dimensions of Western and African constructions of elderliness, and the relevance of the lived experience. Suggestions are made for an African research agenda on aspects of ageing. The editorial also introduces papers on ageing and old age in Africa, which use different disciplinary approaches. (RH). |
