Annotation | Although much can be done to cure or ease the problems of incontinence, a surprisingly large number of care homes are failing to cope adequately. The author outlines her findings, presented in detail in "Towards continence: a study of the continence care of older people in nursing homes" and published by Counsel and Care in 1998. Continence and its management is not an issue that will go away; and it requires individual treatment, expert help and sensitivity. (RH). |
