AnnotationThis national charter tells anyone who needs care or support over the long term where they can expect local housing, health and social services to set standards for the services they provide and what to do if these expectations are not met. It includes standards and goals in six main areas to be set out in local charters: helping users and carers to find out about services; understanding and responding to the needs of carers and users; finding a suitable place to live; helping people to stay independent; getting the right health care; and helping carers to care. Also included is a list of national helplines. (RH).
